Why We Built PostClaw

Last year, I was running social media for a small brand. Nothing huge — just trying to keep Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok alive. Every Monday morning looked the same: write a post, copy it, open Twitter, paste, tweak the hashtags, open Instagram, paste again, crop the image, open LinkedIn, rewrite it to sound more professional, open TikTok... you get the idea.

Four platforms. One piece of content. Somehow an hour gone.

I tried the usual tools. Buffer, Hootsuite, Later. They're fine for scheduling, but they don't help you create. And in 2026, when AI can write a decent first draft in seconds, why am I still doing everything by hand?

That's how PostClaw started.

The idea is simple

You tell PostClaw what you want to say. It writes it, adapts the format for each platform, and schedules it everywhere — Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky. Eight platforms, one dashboard.

But here's what makes it different from the "AI-powered" label that every SaaS tool slaps on these days: PostClaw actually understands that a LinkedIn post and a tweet are fundamentally different things. It doesn't just copy-paste with different character limits. It rewrites. A thread for Twitter. A more polished piece for LinkedIn. A visual-first caption for Instagram.

We went a bit further than we planned

Honestly, the project grew beyond what we initially scoped. We started with text, but then we thought — what about video? Creators need video content constantly, and making it is still painfully slow.

So we built a Video Studio. You can pick from 12 templates that auto-generate videos from your content, or go full creative mode with an 8-step pipeline where you control every detail. Need a voiceover? We integrated ElevenLabs with 15 voices that actually sound good. Need background music? Generate it with AI or browse stock tracks from Jamendo.

We also plugged in Pixabay, Pexels, Unsplash, and Freesound so you're never stuck searching for stock assets in a separate tab.

Your keys, your models

This one matters to us. A lot of tools lock you into their AI backend and charge you a premium for it. We didn't want to do that.

PostClaw supports BYOK — bring your own key. If you already have an OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google API key, just plug it in. You pay them directly, no markup from us. We support over 20 providers.

If you don't have your own keys, that's fine too. Free users get Llama 3.3 70B for chat and FLUX.2-pro for images. Pro users get access to Gemini, DeepSeek, Imagen 4, and Kling 3.0 for video generation.

Workflows for the tinkerers

Some people just want to click "post" and move on. Others want to build intricate content pipelines. We built for both.

PostClaw has 14 built-in tools you can chain together into automated workflows: write content, generate images, create video, add music, add voiceover, schedule posts, track analytics — all connected. Think of it like Zapier, but specifically for content creation.

What it costs

We tried to keep pricing honest:

• Free — 3 social accounts, basic AI, 10 posts/month. Enough to try it properly.
• Pro at $19/mo — 10 accounts, premium models, unlimited scheduling. This is where most people land.
• Business at $49/mo — 25 accounts, team features, advanced analytics. For agencies and bigger teams.

No trials that expire. No credit card upfront. The free tier is actually free, not a demo disguised as a plan.

The nerdy details

For anyone curious: the backend is Go (fast, low memory), the frontend is React with SSR, data lives in PostgreSQL, and real-time updates come through Server-Sent Events. We run lean — one small server handles a lot.
