30 Social Media Post Ideas for Gyms, Studios and Fitness Coaches

A gym's social media does two jobs: it fills classes this week, and it shows people who have never been inside what it feels like to train there. Both need a steady rhythm. The ideas below work for gyms, boutique studios, CrossFit boxes, yoga and pilates studios and independent coaches.

How to use this list: film a few short clips at every class, then pick three to five ideas a week. Keep your plan in our free content calendar template.

Posts that teach

  1. Workout of the day. "Today's 10-minute finisher: three moves, four rounds."
  2. One form cue. "The squat cue that fixed three members' knee pain."
  3. Form check video. Common mistake on the left, fix on the right.
  4. Beginner's guide. "Your first week at the gym: what to expect."
  5. Myth vs fact. "Myth: you need to train every day to see progress."
  6. Mobility routine. Five minutes for desk workers.
  7. Equipment explained. What the sled, rower or kettlebell is good for.
  8. Coach's tip on recovery. Sleep, rest days, warming up.

Posts that fill classes

  1. Open spots. "Two spots left in Thursday's 6 am class. Reply to book."
  2. Class spotlight. What happens in one class, filmed in 20 seconds.
  3. New timetable. One clear image with the week's classes.
  4. Trial offer, if you have one, with the exact terms.
  5. Challenge launch. "Week 2 of the challenge starts Monday."
  6. Bring a friend day.
  7. Personal training slots with how to book.
  8. Answer a booking question as a post: "Do I need to be fit to start?"

Posts that build community

  1. Member win. "Sarah's first pull-up after eight weeks." (With permission.)
  2. Meet the coach. Background, speciality, a fun fact.
  3. Member of the month.
  4. Behind the scenes at opening time.
  5. Playlist of the week.
  6. Poll. "Morning or evening training?"
  7. Unpopular opinion. "Rest days are training days."

Posts for seasons and milestones

  1. New year, realistic goals. How to start without burning out.
  2. Summer schedule or holiday hours.
  3. Anniversary of the gym or a coach.
  4. Charity workout or local event.
  5. Before and after — only with consent, and about strength or skill rather than body shape.
  6. Equipment upgrade or new space.
  7. Thank-you post at the end of a challenge.

A sample week

Day Platform Post
Mon Instagram Today's 10-minute finisher
Tue TikTok The squat cue that fixed three members' knee pain
Wed Facebook Spots open in Thursday's 6 am class

A note on claims and photos

Avoid promising results ("lose 10 kg in a month") or giving medical advice; describe what you offer and what members did, not what everyone will get. Get written permission before posting a member's photo, video or progress.
