How to Schedule Pinterest Pins (Images, Carousels and Video Pins)

Pinterest works differently from other social networks: people search it like a catalogue, and a good Pin keeps sending visitors to your site for months. That makes a steady pinning rhythm worth more than a burst of Pins once a quarter, and scheduling is how a small business keeps it.

Method 1: Pinterest's own scheduler

When you create a Pin on Pinterest, you can choose to publish it at a later date instead of now. It handles one Pin at a time and only Pinterest, which is fine for the occasional Pin.

Method 2: Schedule with PostClaw

Step 1: Connect Pinterest

Sign in to PostClaw, open Channels and choose Pinterest. You approve access on Pinterest's own screen, and your boards appear in PostClaw.

Step 2: Create the Pin

In the Composer, add your media:

  • One image for a standard Pin. Vertical images (2:3) take up the most space in the feed.
  • Two to five images for a carousel Pin.
  • A video for a video Pin, plus an image to use as its cover.

Write a title (up to 100 characters) and a description (up to 500). Keywords matter here more than anywhere else: describe what the Pin shows the way someone would search for it.

Step 3: Choose the board and the link

Pick the board the Pin belongs on, and add the link people should land on — a product page, a blog post or a booking page. A Pin without a link sends interest nowhere.

Step 4: Schedule

Pick a date and time. The Pin appears on the Calendar, where you can move or edit it before it goes out.

A month of Pins in one sitting

  1. List ten to twenty pages worth linking to: products, guides, recipes, services.
  2. Make two or three Pin images per page — different photos, different titles. Pinterest treats each as a new idea.
  3. Spread them over the month, a few a day or a few a week, rather than all at once.
  4. Group them by board so each board fills steadily.

What makes a Pin work

  • Vertical images with the subject clear at a glance.
  • Titles people search for: "Small balcony garden ideas", not "Our spring update".
  • A clear, relevant link to the exact page the Pin shows.
  • Seasonal timing: people plan early, so pin holiday and seasonal ideas weeks ahead.
